Les Deux Alpes Snowpark

The Les Deux Alpes team have been working on the snowpark for nearly 11 years developing the park as the expectations of the riders increases. Thanks to the collaboration with Nicolas Marduel, and to the experience of the drivers, the snowpark has earned a worldwide reputation. There are also 3 “Park bullies”, one pipe magician, one turbine, daily ramp maintenance and “fat” handrails.

Axe pipe

This zone allows beginners to initiated riders to take on rather “technical” ramps like hips, gaps, or quarters over more than 800 m before entering the pipe !

Slopestyle

Slopestyle is one of the most popular discipline and allows experienced to expert riders. Les Deux Alpes Slopestyle is made of a step up gap, a 20 meters long Big Air, 2 tables with 3 kickers from 8 to 15 meters long, several handrails like “kink”, “straight” or “C” Rails and a huge hip ! So, only fat and shaped every days.

Half-pipe

The pipe meets federation standards and is 120 m long with a 4,5 m radius. Regular maintenance by a team of experienced drivers ensures perfect curves and “vertical” ! For seasoned riders and freestyle experts only.

L’envers

The most beautiful playground in the Alps, the one and only: handrails, rainbow, curb, kicks, 2 big air tamps and cool zone with BBQ, music, open DJ turntable, and some deckchairs to take a breather.

The Gully:

3100m 150 m long at 35°! Twisting and turning or straight ahead, but get down that hill! You’re in for a ride!

The Canyons:

3,000m Ski around the banked curves, wind down the hill, and conquer these 2 fun runs. Why? To make the most of the mountains!

The Ledge:

2,800m From 1 to 5 m high, choose your challenge and learn to master this 100% natural, 100% safe obstacle!

The Waterfalls:

2,800m Alone or with a friend, have a safe flight while improving your technique. What’s the secret? Building up speed!

The Boarder Cross:

2,600m Moved to the Toura piste (between the Lac Noir TSF and the new Toura TSF) and completely redesigned, the new boarder cross run offers a 185 m drop over more than 1,000 m.

La Grave

Awesome for backcountry and off piste skiing and only suitable for Confident Off Piste Skiers La Grave is a stunning and wild mountain area. The term Ski Resort is barely appropriate as La Grave has no pistes or marked runs. There is a single telecabine that potters up to 3200 metres, pausing for a quick pick-up at an intermediate lift station with the elaborate name of ‘P1′. From the top, there is no easy way down and you are warned that you proceed at your own risk - and they mean it.

You should not ski La Grave on your own, and you should employ the services of the excellent local guides at all times - La Grave is an unpatrolled high mountain region with many lethal dangers; some apparent, some not.

There are a couple of short Blue runs high on the glacier but these are generally only open from early February and depend on substantial snow cover.

You are strongly advised to research La Grave further as it is a skiing experience with few rivals in Europe but you must acquaint yourself with the dangers. You can contact the local mountain guides through the La Grave website.

Villard Reculas

Villard Reculas is an charming mountain village in the valley of the Eau dOlle in the heart of the Oisans mountains and at the gateway to the skiing domain known as the Grandes Rousses.

The village faces due south, and has views over the town of Bourg d’Oisans and the Romanche Valley. Villard Reculas has its own slopes situated in the Alpine meadows to the north of the village at 1500 metres. The piste’s are west facing and are ideally suited for the young and beginners to learn and practice in a quiet, safe and peaceful environment. From here you can access the Pic Blanc at 3330 metres at the top of the Alpe d’Huez resort.

With its 19 ski lifts and 46 km of pisted ski runs the resort of Vaujany is a major resort in the Grandes Rousses Ski Area. In addition to the skiing in Vaujany the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Grandes Rousses ski resorts of Alpe d’Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans and Villard Reculas.

With its pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the winter season and it offers excellent skiing and snowboarding for beginners and intermediates.

Built in 1989, the resort of Oz is not as famous as some of the bigger resorts, but it has all the assets that will ensure that you can ski and board as much as you like with shops, cafes and bars.

There are 2 gondola lifts that give fast (15 minutes) access to the heart of the 2000m-high skiing area. Once at the top you can choose a red, blue or green run to return back to Oz. As with most of the other resorts you can quickly get to the Pic Blanc at 3330 metres at the top of the Alpe d’Huez resort.

Located at 1600m Auris en Oisans and nestled at the foot of the Signal de l’Homme it is a great place to snowboard and ski with its 45 km of pisted runs. The village itself has 17 shops and 6 bars / restaurants so is a great place to chill out. As with the other resorts in the Grandes Rousses Ski Area you have full access to all the local ski resorts on one ski pass.

Alpe d’Huez

Founded in 1936 and located high in the Oisans Alpes at 1869 metres above sea level, Alpe d’Huez is the central resort of the Grandes Rousses Massif domain. It links the traditional mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde.

The resort itself is one of Europe’s highest and largest with a massive vertical drop, crowned by the Sarenne Glacier - the longest black run in Europe.

The resort is big and vibrant with far more shopping and other things to do generally off the slopes than in most other ski centres, especially by French standards.

The Grande Rousses

The Grandes Rousses, including Alpe d’Huez, Vaujany, Oz-en-Oisans, Auris-en-Oisans, Villard-Reculas covers 10,000 hectares, with approximately 800 for alpine skiing.

With a 2,230 m of vertical drop (from 3330m at the top of the Pic Blanc to 1100m at the Enversin d’Oz, the area has 123 marked pistes and include 17 black, 36 red, 32 blue and 38 green and also a piste for night skiing/boarding, and 2 special areas for beginners.

86 ski lifts:

6 cable cars, 10 gondola lifts, 25 chair lifts, 40 ski tows, 2 lifts and 3 carpets and 2 snowparks, a boardercross and half-pipe, and a permanent sledging area.

Oh and just as importantly 300 days of sunshine per year and a great record of snowfall.

All of which are accessible with the same 6 day pass.
